The Machinima Expo 6 will take place on November 17th, 2013

Submit your film to the New Media Film Festival | Interview with Susan Johnston, founder of the NMFF

The New Media Film Festival, which takes place on Jun 12th & 13th at the Landmark Theater in Los Angeles, is accepting film submissions until May 10th (Midnight, pacific time). The festival, founded by Susan Johnston, is now in it's 3rd year and has become a unique venue for "new media' like web series, digital comics and now machinima. The festival does charge a submission fee, but if you are submitting in the Machinma category, Susan has provided a discount code for $10 off of the standard fee. Use code twitter10 when you submit your film. Just go to the Festival website:

http://www.newmediafilmfestival.com/index.php

click "submit" then scroll down to the Machinima category to upload your film and provide info. At the end of the process, use the discount code twitter10 to get $10 off of the total submission fee.

Be sure to check out the prizes you can win (not to mention having your film screened at the live festival) and read up on the FAQ's which give you more info on the festival. You can contact the festival if you have more questions at their contact page.

Interview with Susan Johnston

I was fortunate to interview a very busy Susan Johnston, about the NMFF and how machinima fits in with the festival this year. Her comments that the NMFF focuses on "stories worth telling" in new media forms like web-series, mobile apps and machinima, fit right in with what the Machinima Expo is all about. Thanks, Susan, for taking the time to talk with us and share your ideas.

Feel free to stream the interview (via Soundcloud) or download it to listen at a later time.
